Robert Lewandowski is here as the October La Liga Player of the Month winner, in previous years of FIFA there wouldn't have been quite as much excitement for an SBC like this, but with the gameplay changes on FIFA 23, especially for those on next-generation, Lewandowski is a much more viable option now. Let's take a look at the requirements, cost, pros and cons, and whether or not you should complete the POTM Lewandowski SBC.
Player of the Month Lewandowski
Let's kick things off by taking a proper look at the new POTM card. In regards to pros, it's obvious already that he is super easy to link into teams. While the Polish nationality links might be lacking outside of Smolarek, Dudek, and Szczęsny, there is an abundance of La Liga and especially Barcelona players that can be used to build chemistry. He has the lovely 4-star skills and 4-star weak foot combo, along with ideal attacking and defensive work rates. To finish up with the pros, there are the absolutely insane shooting stats that he has, along with the Outside Foot Shot and Finesse Shot traits which will make him incredibly clinical.
When it comes to the downsides, one issue is always going to be pace. This is even more of an issue if you're on old-generation gameplay, as you can't rely on abusing the new AcceleRATE system in order to make Lewandowksi more usable. It's also worth noting that he will feel slightly heavy with the 78 Agility and 83 Balance but there are strikers in the game with lower stats in that regard that still play well, so ultimately this can be overcome.
How Much Does POTM Lewandowski Cost?
This is where things get a little bit negative when looking at this SBC, below you can find the full requirements and pack returns.
La Liga
You will receive a Premium Gold Players Pack for submitting the following:
- Min. 1 Players from: LaLiga Santander
- Min. Team Rating: 86
The estimated cost is 94,700 coins.
88-Rated Squad
You will get a Mega Pack in return for submitting the following:
- Min. Team Rating: 88
The estimated cost is 198,000 coins.
While the requirements are incredibly straightforward, which is appreciated and helps reduce the cost slightly, the Lewandowski POTM SBC is still coming in at 293k, which seems a bit too hefty. His Ones to Watch card is 380k on the market and his Gold card is 46,000 coins. When you consider that the POTM only has mostly +1 upgrades with some +2 upgrades thrown in there, it can be difficult to justify that almost 250k increase.
Should you complete POTM Lewandowski?
I was really hoping the pricing for this SBC was going to be fair and make sense, as then it would have been a pretty easy recommendation for those of your playing on next-gen, however, EA has completely missed the mark on the SBC pricing.
Complete or Yeet? Yeet. While being understanding that there is the ability to "craft" this Lewandowski POTM SBC, it's still absurdly overpriced in comparison to his Gold card and for that reason, it's not worth touching this SBC at all. Even if there's sentimental value there, it would still be worth avoiding and waiting for something else down the line. Let us know if you're going to be committing to completing the new Lewandowski SBC.
