When does FC 27 Ultimate Scream start?
Ultimate Scream is expected on Friday 23 October 2026 at 6pm UK time (17:00 UTC).
EA named Ultimate Scream as one of three returning campaigns in its Season 2: FC Heritage article on 22 October 2026, but gave no date or time. Season 1 ended on Thursday 22 October 2026, which makes Friday 23 October the first Friday of the new season. FC 26's Ultimate Scream was released on the equivalent Friday a year earlier, and EA releases campaigns at 6pm UK time as standard.
That 6pm holds for the whole campaign, but the UTC equivalent does not. UK clocks go back on Sunday 25 October 2026, so Team 1 arrives at 17:00 UTC and everything after it at 18:00 UTC. Players outside the UK see the release move by an hour, while UK players do not.
How do FC 27 Ultimate Scream upgrades work?
Every Ultimate Scream item receives a temporary upgrade on the Beaver Moon, Tuesday 24 November 2026, running seven days until Tuesday 1 December 2026.
EA has confirmed two parts, both temporary:
- A 99 face stat on every Ultimate Scream item
- Full chemistry in position on every Ultimate Scream item
Full chemistry in position means the item counts as fully linked when played in its listed position, whatever the rest of your squad looks like. EA has not said whether the 99 face stat is selected at random, as it was in FC 26.
The Role system explains why this is smaller than last year. FC 26 added permanent Role+ and then Role++ across two full moons. Every FC 27 special item already launches with Role++ across its primary and secondary positions, so those upgrades would have awarded Ultimate Scream items nothing. The chemistry boost takes their place.
EA has confirmed one upgrade. The Cold Moon falls on Thursday 24 December 2026, after Season 2 ends on Thursday 3 December 2026, and no second upgrade has been announced. The seven-day window covers the weekend of Friday 27 November 2026.
EA's FC 26 article stated: "Ultimate Scream items from Evolutions do not receive Full Moon upgrades." Season 2 awards several Ultimate Scream Evolutions, and EA has not said whether that still applies.
Who will be in FC 27 Ultimate Scream?
EA has not announced the squad. It is usually revealed on the evening the campaign begins.
Expect two squads a week apart, with Team 1 available until Team 2 replaces it. FC 26 featured around 15 items per squad in packs, plus further items through Squad Building Challenges and Objectives. FC 26 also included Heroes for the first time in the campaign's history, which would fit the nostalgia theme of Season 2, though EA has not confirmed it. No Icons have featured in any Ultimate Scream campaign.

How do you get FC 27 Ultimate Scream players?
Through packs, Squad Building Challenges and Objectives, with pack items also available on the Transfer Market.
Campaign items appear in any pack containing player items, including free ones. Items found in packs are tradeable, and items earned through Squad Building Challenges and Objectives are untradeable. EA adds new content daily at 6pm UK time across the two weeks rather than all at once. A token based reward store has been mentioned but not confirmed by EA.
Which Ultimate Scream rewards are in the Season 2 Season Pass?
EA has confirmed retro Ultimate Scream card designs and themed Evolutions as Season Pass rewards.
- Premium Pass, Level 26: Ultimate Scream Retro 17, Ultimate Scream Retro 19, Midfield Roundabout and Ultimate Scream Evolutions
- Standard Pass, Level 27: Ultimate Scream Retro 20, Season 2 Badge and Season Ladder Excellence Evolutions
The Retro Evolutions apply the card designs used in FIFA 17, FIFA 19 and FIFA 20 to items in your club. Halloween cosmetics appear on both tracks, including the Haunted Grounds stadium and tifos. The FC Heritage Circuit also uses Ultimate Scream as the name of its Semi-Pro stage, which is a single player Live Event and does not award campaign items.
Ultimate Scream and Screaming Grounds: what is the difference?
Ultimate Scream is the Ultimate Team campaign. Screaming Grounds is a separate Halloween event in The Grounds.
They share nothing but a theme. The Grounds is only available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC and Nintendo Switch 2, so players on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and the original Nintendo Switch can take part in Ultimate Scream as normal but cannot access Screaming Grounds.

The campaign was absent for five editions before EA brought it back in FC 26, and FC 27 moves away from the permanent upgrades used last year.
