These instructions allow for an attacking fullback but also defending in a 442 formation, as a result your attacking wide CM should be a winger for when they defend in 442 and counter attack from out wide. I recommend having finesse shot+ trait and an inverted winger play this role as they can often get in those shooting opportunities (e.g. Salah at RCM).

The beauty of the overlapping fullback is best utilized when counter intuitively starting attacking on the opposite side of the pitch. This allows your opponents team to be sucked in and the overlapping fullback will make that late run into space where you can use that extra man advantage before either crossing it in or working it back inside for an easy pass across goal!
How to Defend with 4321 (442) Custom Tactics in FC 24
At 72 depth, your team will often auto-press. If this isn't your defensive style, lower it to tailor it to your own needs.
Interceptions are strong this year, leading to the majority of attacking coming from the wings, make sure to track back with your wingers and fullbacks and not overcommit to them by being too aggressive.
