Already having the Anticipate PlayStyles, putting the Austrian defender through the TOTW Upgrade Evo makes him one of the best ball playing CDMs in the game.
2. Davide Zappacosta
Putting the Atalanta wingback through the free Evo combination of Detail Oriented, Like a Rock and Midfield Dynasty allows you to turn him into the best Italian defender in game bar Maldini.
Having both offensive and defensive PlayStyles makes him best suited to the role of a box-to-box CM.
3. Sonia Bompastor
The favourite object of our social media admin's pun-centric humour, the French wingback is highly sough after as one of the best attacking wingbacks even in her base form.
Taking her up to a 5-Star Weak Foot, with the Whipped Pass and Quick Step PlayStyles in her locker and links to some meta players in the D1 Arkema League, she is a great choice if you play a 3-back formation.
4. Capdevila
Arguably the best LB in FIFA 23, the Spanish fullback hasn't quite maintained his meta status this year but he's still an incredible player nonetheless.

5. In-Form João Cancelo
The Portuguese fullback may have fallen out of favour with Pep at Manchester City but he's still a world class player.
He has a wonderful array of PlayStyles and top tier stats but his Low Defensive workrates and mediocre pace is why he is at the bottom of the list.
