Welcome to my predictions for the Premier League Team of the Season in EA FC 24! Today I’m going to be giving some insight into who might be in TOTS this year from the Premier League, as well as their potential stats and PlayStyles.
I’ll be predicting a Starting XI with 6 subs, as well as a few honorable mentions at the end who could be in with a shout. To note, this is a prediction of what I think EA will do for Team of the Season, rather than a list of who I think is the most deserving.
TOTS Premier League Starting XI
Goalkeeper: David Raya - Arsenal
While Raya’s signing was somewhat controversial given Arteta’s rotation plan, he has had a great season and Arsenal have the fewest goals conceded in the league at time of writing. Unfortunately, goalkeepers won’t be receiving PlayStyle+’s in FC Ultimate Team 24, but he should have some stellar stats to make him one of the best in the game.
Right Back: Trent Alexander-Arnold - Liverpool
Although he has missed some games with injury, Trent has had a stellar season as one of Liverpool’s key players. His unique skill set allows him to boss the game from midfield, despite playing as a right back. He had a strong TOTY Honorable Mentions card, but this one should be much better with the added PlayStyle+’s and much better pace.
Center Back: William Saliba - Arsenal
Saliba has quickly become one of the best players in the Premier League at a very young age. Since he was introduced to the Arsenal first team two years ago, he has come to be known as an elite center back. His TOTS item should be even better than his popular TOTY Honorable Mention item, and hopefully include a stamina boost to go along with his added PlayStyles.
Center Back: Virgil van Dijk - Liverpool
Another Liverpool defender for the team, VVD has had a great season at the back. His ability to dominate attackers while also being strong in possession is a rare combination. As one of the rarest TOTY’s, people will be hopeful that they can actually pack this version of him. He should be one of the most “meta” defenders of all time.
Left Back: Nathan Aké - Manchester City
Our first City player on the list, Aké has been his club’s best defender this season. He plays a versatile role that allows him to tuck in as a third center back, or overlap down the left. He specializes at shutting down threatening right wingers. Aké’s player items are always interesting in Ultimate Team, as he is fairly short and agile for a center back, where many will play him in game.
Center Midfielder: Rodri - Manchester City
At the time of writing, Rodri has not lost a game in all competitions for well over a year. He’s the heartbeat of his City side, and unquestionably one of the best players in the world. As one of the more (relatively) affordable TOTY items, his TOTS should provide a good balance between elite play and attainability for players. I would expect his stats to be similar to his TOTY item, but with an added PlayStyle+.
Center Midfielder: Martin Ødegaard - Arsenal
Øde is another young player who has quickly become respected as one of the best in the world at Arsenal. His ability to control games and play beautiful incisive passes have made him a fan favorite, while also being a leader on and off the pitch. His early-cycle Centurions SBC was very popular, so I would expect his TOTS item to be as well.
Center Midfielder: Kevin de Bruyne - Manchester City
Despite missing half the season with injury, KDB has returned to his best and lifted his team. Some may have questioned his TOTY inclusion, but they cannot question his status as one of the best players to grace the Premier League. Similar to Rodri, I would expect this item to be similar to his TOTY, with the added PlayStyle+.
Right Wing: Mohamed Salah - Liverpool
Despite missing a few games this season, Salah is still one of the top scorers in the league. Similar to KDB, he’s a Premier League all-timer who can change a game in an instant. Salah has had a variety of Ultimate Team items, and this one promises to be another top-tier attacker.
Left Wing: Phil Foden - Manchester City
A versatile attacker who can play on either wing or through the middle, Foden has had a fantastic season for City, helping to carry them while KDB was injured. He’s taken a step up in level as one of the premier players in the league now. Foden is often an underrated player in Ultimate Team, but this TOTS may get him the respect he deserves.
Striker: Erling Haaland - Manchester City
Perhaps the most obvious inclusion on this list, the cover star is also the league’s top scorer and thus is certain to get in TOTS. His TOTY item was a beast, and this one should be even better. He’ll be one of the most sought-after items in the team.
TOTS Premier League Bench & Reserves
Center Back: Micky van de Ven - Tottenham
VDV had a strong first season in the league, helping allow Spurs to play their high defensive line with his incredible recovery pace. He could be one of the faster defenders in Team of the Season.
Center Midfielder: Declan Rice - Arsenal
Perhaps the most-hyped transfer of the summer, Rice has shown his level at Arsenal this season as a key player in their title charge. He had a great Fantasy promo item, so his TOTS should be even better.
Center Midfielder: Bruno Fernandes - Manchester United
Our first United player on the list, Bruno is a fan-favorite for his ability and passion. Players will have enjoyed his Flashback SBC item a few months ago, and his TOTS could be another great player in game.
Right Wing: Bukayo Saka - Arsenal
It’s been another strong season for Arsenal’s “Star Boy”. As a key player for Arsenal, he has delivered goals and assists. He will certainly be a popular TOTS item.
Left Wing: Heung Min Son - Tottenham
Son is one of the top scorers and assisters in the league this season, and has taken on more responsibility following the sale of Harry Kane. Son is always a popular Ultimate Team player thanks to his “meta” stats, weak foot, and PlayStyles.
Striker: Ollie Watkins - Aston Villa
Watkins has been key to Villa’s top four push and is one of the top scorers in the league. Although he is not as popular of an Ultimate Team player as many others on this list, he should be affordable for players with any budget.
Honorable Mentions
The following players have a chance at making this team, but just missed out. Look out for them still featuring in some capacity.
