Day 2 of Shapeshifters gives us our first Shapeshifters Icon SBC in the form of Shapeshifters Icon Gianluca Zambrotta and boy we’re off to a good start to this promo with one of, if not the very best Icon SBC we’ve had all year available in FIFA Ultimate Team now!
The Italian icon’s SBC is fairly expensive, coming in at a price of 222.8K coins and needs 6 segments to unlock the card.
He has some absolutely fantastic stats and characteristics such as:
- 90 Acceleration and Sprint Speed with his Controlled AcceleRATE type will allow him to glide across the midfield with ease
- 91 Positioning, 89 Finishing, 90 Shot Power, 91 Long Shots and 93 Curve give him incredible shooting ability both inside and outside the box
- Immaculate ball distribution with 97 Vision, 95 Crossing, 94 Short Passing and 93 Long Passing with the Flair Passes Trait
- 93 agility, 92 Balance, 95 Reactions, 93 Ball Control, 96 Dribbling and 94 Composure with the Flair Trait makes him incredibly responsive on the ball
- 94 Interceptions, 90 Defensive Awareness, 95 Standing Tackle and 93 Sliding Tackle allows him to command the midfield and win the ball back
- 88 Heading Accuracy and 87 Jumping with his 5’11 Height makes him decent in the air
- 93 Stamina means he won’t need to be substituted for 80+ Minutes
- 91 Strength and Aggression means he will have a very good chance of coming out on top in physical duels and 50/50’s
- Having a 5-Star Weak Foot means he can drift and turn to any side and will still be just as effective giving him an increased edge in game
- High/High workrates are perfect for box-to-box midfielders
His ideal position in game will be as a secondary or box-to-box CM/CDM in a 4-2-3-1, 4-2-2-2, 4-1-2-1-2(2) or a 3-5-2 setup. He offers the complete package of defending, playmaking, ball carrying and scoring while making the right offensive and defensive runs which will allow him to maintain the structure the team needs while also performing at his best.
He has a similar player profile to Shapeshifters Icon Sócrates. Sócrates might have the edge over Zambrotta, being slightly better overall but they are very similar in their profiles being complete footballers. They have everything in their locker and will excel in any role you choose to play them in.
The card has no drawbacks except that his Average body type might make him a little clunky in game.

The suggested Chemistry Style for Shapeshifters Icon Gianluca Zambrotta is: SHADOW. The +8 boost in pace while also boosting his Defending makes him an absolute beast in midfield and brings the best out of him.
Shapeshifters Icon Gianluca Zambrotta: Complete or Yeet?
We’re in a stage of the game cycle where we have the best possible cards in the game available to us at cheap prices so getting an Icon SBC which can compete with those cards both in price and in game ability seems like it should be difficult but this Zambrotta card does exactly that. It is absolutely excellent in performance and good value compared to other cards similar to it which is why this SBC is worth completing . My verdict: Complete!
